Changing out tuning machines

So my Broadway shipped out today as did my new tuners for it. Should I be concerned with the screw holes stripping just from unscrewing the screws while changing out the tuners? I’ve had this happen on a Strat when removing the back plate. That was in alder. The specs for the Broadway say the neck is hard maple. I want to do this myself as it should be fairly easy and no need for a tech. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

A drop of PVA glue into the hole (and let it soak in and dry) can solve the problem.

and nothing to be concerned about - probably the person at the factory overtightened the screws.

+ can mix glue with small chips wood, or small dowel.

The tuning machines went on without a hitch. No problem with the screws at al. Thanks for all the advice.
