I was notified of a possible exposure that happened Monday. I was masked, as usual, and it was a brief encounter. We're scheduling testing for later this week.
I just put a new filter in my mask. Between that and the shots, I'm as good as I can be.I think we are all in for more lockdowns with the rapid spread of this latest variant.
It’s a brave new world.....not!
I just learned my daughter-in-law has tested positive, and was in the house for Christmas, Hugginkiss and all that. I had my 89 year old mother here, who also hug and kissed, we stopped in Mayfield to see my longest term still in contact friend, so I’ve called them all. We are quarantining ourselves. Yay. Fornicate. And now I have a headache, but that could be road sickness and wine. Lettuce pray.![]()
The following is a JOKE.
End of JOKE.
It would certainly be good to see the back of it Paul. Hope itEveryone here in the UK is catching 'a cold' which is indistinguishable from omicron symptoms, and may not return a positive test on an LFT. If you can actually get LFT's anywhere. And you can't now get a PCR test in England, Scotland and Wales have their own public health bodies and are providing PCR tests, don't know about Northern Ireland.
The science is suggesting that three quarters of people with a cold at the moment actually have omicron. And that the transmissability is such that everyone is going to be exposed to it. And, it will displace previous variants, and provides good immunity to them. Viral load is around ten times lower. So here in the UK cases will probably peak in 2-3 weeks, and we could be looking at and end to the pandemic very soon.
I'm on day 8 of 'the cold' and tested negative on the last LFT in my pack, three days in. But it certainly seems to be more than a cold, hence messed up sleep patterns and browsing the internet at 3.20am.
I've seen that come through my newsfeed over the last few days. I can't say I'm sympathetic to their "exemption".Currently Australia requires that people entering must be double vaxxed. We are approaching the tennis tournament, the Australian Open. Novak Djokovic refused to divulge his vaccination status but arrived here claiming an exemption. He is currently in immigration detention saying his exemption is because he has already had Covid.
There is an inevitable battle in the court but I doubt having had it once is a valid reason for exemption. However there may be discretion exercised, don’t know really.
Australians have had a very hard time with stringent restrictions over the last couple of years and if a high profile sportsman, a fantastically wealthy one, is seen to receive special consideration then it will cause trouble. At the very least I expect he will be booed off the court.
A Czech player was returned home under similar circumstances today.
