Either way ! This song just struck a chord (pun intended ) years ago and has been a song I like to play ( not well enough IMHO ) or listen to a lot .

It's a really powerful song and we were lucky to have some guitarists who could do justice to the solos. It was one we'd do close to the end of the night when my voice had been really warmed up because the vocal range is pretty broad from high to low. Wasn't all that easy to play the bass line and sing it either. Bit of syncopation goin' on.

We saw Van a few years ago in Alpharetta, GA. He didn’t say a word, other than the occasionally muttered thank you, but the band was killer, he sang as well as he does, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not a big Van Fan, but admire his longevity and a few great songs, like Tupelo Honey. Brown Eyed Girl, on the other hand…
