I have an Origin 4X12 and a Park 4X12. I will probably check into purchasing a 1960A .

That one deserves a good cab. If you're going all in then hell yeah get the 1960A . Do you have an attenuator? "They" say that the sweet spot is between 7 and 8. All of my neighbors would not be pleased if I had such amp sorcery.

Yes, I have an attenuator that works very well. I use it with my Kit built Plexi and the Origin cab as a bedroom amp. I can turn the amp to it's "sweet spot" and run it in the 90 dB range with it still sounding magnificent.

Good amplifier, indeed - a safe value...

The JTM45, 1974 and 1962 are the most coveted Vintage Marshall. I saw many RI JTM45 (2245) 1974X and 1962 Bluesbreaker for service, but never an original until recently. These RI are absolutely convincing, my favourite would be the 1974X : enough power, lightweight, great tone !

The only "real" Vintage Marshall which came this summer for restoration on my bench was a 1964 JTM45 head. His proprietary bought it in England used and in poor condition in the mid-late 70s, played it for years, and finally decided last year to have it TLC... It's never too late with that kind of never-dead amp, conversely to the PC construction-based new ones !

Pictures of the original condition and restored condition. In accordance with the owner, some of the Vintage "relic'ed" look has been preserved :

And yes, this amp effectively delivers circa 30-35W clean tone, once refurbished.

Some pictures with mates of the same era, also here for servicing :

I purchased a Marshall 1960 TV cab for this amp. Now I have 3 Marshall half stacks with two of them set up as my bedroom rig. If I can figure out how to create the space, I may set up the third half stack for a wet/dry/wet rig. I'll add some photos in a couple of weeks, right now I am slammed at work and will have to wait till I can finish spring cleaning. In the meantime, pictures and specs of the 1960 TV are available on the Guitar Center or Sweetwater web sites.

I have an angled, and a straight Origin cabs. I got them before the latest price increase.

Pretty good value, but alas, no casters. Which is cool cause it’s like furniture. It stays put and doesn’t leave the house. My Origin 50 sounds a lot like my old 1959 head, but you can play it a low volumes. The 59 I hat was too loud even at a volume setting of one. The Origin cabs sound good.

JTM 45 is an awesome.

I purchased a set of Ernie Ball casters for my Origin cab. They only cost a few bucks and took me about 20 minutes to install.
