Is there a way to give a bit more control ( threads ) in the classifieds . After 2 or 3 days ... we no longer have the option to edit . Can anything be done like the sister sites that allow you to go in and edit if it's sold , rather than just making a comment that someone might not scroll down to find ?

Because those upgrades to "sponsor" or whatever lead to favoritism. You can't call them out on B.S. without getting banned. Ask me how I know.
Keeping everyone on the same level does exactly that - keeps everyone on the same level.
I have unfortunately run into that problem myself .... Big Shock !!! .

As for your previous question, perhaps @soulman969 might be willing to close out classified ads that are sold. We have a pretty low volume - it might be a thing he's willing to do or to edit the title... whichever is easiest.
Right.....it's more fun to be part of the proletariat then the elite.....LOL.
I don't know about expanding privileges via buying the right to do so because we aren't set up that way. But I can check into a couple of things like extending edit times and an ability to add SOLD to a classified ad.
In the interim I can go into the Classifieds and delete sold listings.

I agree. I just updated a classified ad here and on another site and was slightly disappointed that I could not edit the title or post here.

I've written an email to Admin asking about being able to add a SOLD edit to Classified listings and also extending edit time forum wide in general. I'll let you know about any changes he can make once I hear back.
In the interim I'll begin deleting any classified thread that indicates an item has been sold or is gone and those prior to 2022. Once I can get that forum updated I think we'll go with a policy of deleting listings more than a year old. I'll go through and do this several time per year.

Where I'm from, back in the day, there was a definite stigma (and rumors) attached to perceived wealth. If you worked for the things you got, folks knew it without you advertising. It was a very blue collar area with a strong union presence.
There was a grudging indifference towards the Citiots, as they brought tourist money, but they were never made "too welcome".
A fact I am particularly glad of. We're not a bourgeois Gibson centric site where we measure our worth by the name on the headstock. Speaking for myself, I don't need a colored banner under my avatar to make myself feel good.
