For may of us our primary introduction and instruction on the electric guitar came not from the Beatles but from these guys......The Ventures. Songs like Walk Don't Run, the Chantays song Pipeline and the Sufari's tune Wipeout were what we learned to play from initially and they were always a part of our set lists. Chuck Berry, The Beatles, and the Beach Boys among others may have advanced our cause to play rock and roll but in the very beginning it was The Ventures and their Fender guitars we all wanted to play like.

So I thought it would fun and interesting to share this documentary so we can all comments on the impact the all instrumental band had on our musical careers. Hope you enjoy the viewing.

That's popped up in my YouTube feed recently. I haven't had the "sit-down" time to watch it yet.

The Surfragettes are really good though. I have a number of their tracks in my offline playlists.

I watched this documentary on youtube a while back. The Ventures were a big inspiration when I first got into guitar in the early 60s. The first band I was in played a few of their tunes and I still pull out a Ventures CD now and then to reminisce. Their music is still relevant today, as far as I am concerned.
