Good solid looking shoots there mate!

We have had 2 BBQ’s here for years and as you get older you tend not to have bigger gatherings and the WeberQ does all that we need now. I have one at Mallacoota too and they are so economical on gas that one bottle lasts ages. The main reason BBQs are fewer is this colder weather plus losing our protection from late afternoon SE breezes which often make it uncomfortable early evening. All the trees and bushes protecting us went in the fires. We should be getting a few 40C plus temps this month as it’s usually Feb. that is our hottest and certainly many days in the 30’s, but now we are getting mostly low and mid 20’s.

Feels more like "Global Cooling" to me!

Hopefully this treatment will be forgotten long after it does the trick and returns you to good health Ian.

You can tell from the pic that only half of the shoots have broken surface, I pushed the big pot under the window box last Autumn to protect it from the rains & only half of it was in daylight.
I've pulled it out now to let the daylight on the other half.

Cheers Mate it's a bit miserable at present with not being able to go.

Full day off today and it feels really good. It's more typically a slow season around work but Samsung just released their newest phone and we released cases for it so that always gets the phone lines ringing.

Gonna catch a beer this afternoon with one of the local musicians as I begin to network with others around here and at least make an attempt to slide back into the music scene again. I'm hopin' there are more opportunities up here than I found in Denver over the past few years.

Whoo Hooo! Sacre bleu mon ami. Going French!!!! TSW3 have 80% off the LGV Méditerranée : Marseille - Avignon route in the sale, :yesway: That's better than a poke in the eye with a mucky stick :D I'm in the training centre learning how to drive it before I'm let loose in it over there.

Do you get bonus baguettes for running over mimes on the tracks?

I've had Assassin's Creed: Odyssey in my library for a while now and took it for a spin last night. In addition to the gameplay, they have a tour mode that allows you to explore Ancient Greece and the various locales in the game with no more responsibility than an NPC. They did the same with AC: Origins, and it's amazing how deep they go.

I think I will be spending a lot of time in the training centre to get an handle on this high speed beasty, They're overly complicated to set up & drive compared to other countries loco's
Changing the voltage over from DC to AC whilst on the fly is just one :wow:My first trip out was a bit lumpy lol.

Stopped by my daughters place last night to say hi and see my grand daughters. Rylan as usual had her focus entirely on a new movie she was watching on her mini iPad or whatever it was they got for Christmas. Today they're going to the Denver Zoo.

Rory was playful and working hard on spilling shredded cheese on the floor for Henry to lap up. Some days I think he eats more of her dinner off the floor then she does off her plate. Tricia gave them each a bowl of raspberries and Rory was sticking them on the end of her fingers and eating them off. Such a little character she is.

When I was ready to go she came over and gave me a hug around my knees and said bye bye grandpa. There is nothing in this world that can make an old guy feel better than a child's love. I feel so much better to be closer to them now.

The sparrows have started to come back to the feeders in more numbers but it's brought the young sparrowhawk back chancing it's luck swooping in around the bushes to catch one.

No they're tunnels around Avignon, There is a channel tunnel Eurostar loco in TSW3 but I'll wait until it's heavily discounted in the sales before I buy it :thumb:
Here we have the Moffat Tunnel that runs under the Continental Divide from the Rollinsville in front range on the east to Winter Park on the western side. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moffat_Tunnel

"Pardon me boy, is that the Chattanooga choo choo?
Right on track 29, boy, you can give me a shine
I can afford to board the Chattanooga choo choo
I've, I've, I've got my fare and just a trifle to spare"

Took the tractor around yesterday to check the property, located a big patch of Scotch Thistles and attacked them with a heavy mattock! There must have been 100 or more. First hit set off my watch’s fall alert so I took it off and I managed to dig out about 20 this time. They are almost as high as me.

A week ago before resuming B12 supplements digging 4 out would have exhausted me so thats progress! I’ll do a few at a time until they are all down.

Our dam has finally stopped over-flowing, first time in 3 seasons! I did a little bit of tidying up with the slasher but there is oh so much more to do.

Kellie & Grant are off to Hobart for the Wooden Boat Festival starting on Friday. Then spending 2 weeks touring Tassie. How life has changed for my daughter since she had that kidney transplant! It’s wonderful! I’ve asked her to bring me back a box of scallop pies from the Salamanca market at Hobart but don’t hold out a lot of hope! They are to die for!

Grin~

More farm stuff today, line trimming, killing weeds etc. Shawn my helper is here today and he can finish off brushcutting behind the shed and poison the grass he has cut if he’s got time.

Big day of mowing yesterday and did a lot more than usual running down the inside fenceline of some of the paddocks where I cant get the tractor close enough. Good cool weather for working!

Boiler survey completed we passed muster :thumb: It's going to be 2-3 weeks before they can start though but we cant complain as the grant will cover all the cost.

I got some heated propagators & heat mats out of the garage to start sowing some more tomato & bell peppers seeds yesterday, I may regret it with the sub zero overnight & low daytime temps at the moment

Much the same here. Three days of work. One day off. One day of work. Two days off. Now, if I can just get past this month and the dreaded "metrics monster" I may finally be able to settle into a more predictable pattern and begin to resurrect what's left of my music career.

Partly sunny and looking for a high of 66°/19°. Traditionally, we get another cold snap in March, or even early April. We froze our keisters off a few years ago at a festival in mid April.

Our young helper Shawn turned up yesterday with a problem with his big trailer, springs had slipped out and needed relocating. He asked me if I could help him get them back in. Now I’m no mechanic but I did have all the tools he needed and did what I could to help. He damaged the main bolt banging it out with a mash hammer so I spent half an hour refiling the mutilated thread and got it useable again. That all took an hour but he got it going again.

I set him out to finish brushcutting long grass on the bank behind the shed and then spray it with a glyphosate and metsulfuron mixture. He used 30 litres of that mix but got it finished for me. Thats heavy work that I don't need to worry about now as I’ll just keep the weeds sprayed and it will be tidy.

In the meantime I used a line trimmer and did around the house knocking weeds over and then cleaned the verandah and patio. My back had had enough after that! Now I need to spray the weeds where I’ve trimmed and gravel around the bouse. It effectively soaks up 3 days just keeping the place tidy this time of year, without even looking at the paddocks. However I have appointments in town from 8.30 this morning so it wont be today.
