A belated optometrist appt. in town yesterday took us in early. He did vision, eye pressures for glaucoma and a field test and it seems my eyesight hasn’t changed in the last 2 years. It gets reported to the govt. me having diabetes as eyes are commonly a point of failure with said disease. My drivers licence is secure for another 12 months thankfully.

What an improvement! The course of medication (Tamsulosin) they gave me yesterday has worked wonders :applause: I had the best nights sleep I've had in weeks without having to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes, I can now empty my bladder :dude:
:dude::dude:
I was prescribed Tamsulosin (generic FloMax) when I had a lot of kidney stones. The reasoning was to keep the prostate wide open so a stone or two could pass with as little drama as they could, but now I find if I don’t take it, it’s more of an effort to pee. There’s another odd side effect, but I’ll message you about that.

Cheers guys. Enjoying another of my midweek days off. I like this new schedule. Now I only need to deal with the daily grind for 3 days before I get a day off then 1 day of work before a 2 day break. Perfect pacing for an old fart. :D

Thanks for the information Greg :thumb: It's amazing how much of a difference it's made, I feel much better in myself just being able to pee again. :)

With an evening appointment yesterday I had a baking day. I made a big steak & kidney suet pudding in the steamer & there was enough filling left over to make a steak & kidney pie too :dude:

Absolutely delicious if I say so myself :D.

I avoided the heat yesterday as best I could working in the shed and in the shade where I could. One thing I got started was sanding back a bench seat that went through the fire and I was lucky it was in a shady spot. Might do some more of that today. I still need to do something with the rusty metalwork as in remove as much rust as I can, neutralise the rust and then paint that same metalwork.

After lunch I jumped on the computer and finished a couple of jobs that needed doing. Slow work requiring resizing and compiling of photos to add to a couple of documents. Got them finished and away so I can forget about them for now.

Perfect pacing indeed. There have been jobs where that mid-week break would have been quite welcome. Do you work 10's to "compensate" or is Otterbox cool like that?

No, I work 8 hour shifts the on days but it always longer than 8 hours 'cause I clock in at 7:30 AM to be set up and on phones by 8:00 AM and even though my shift ends at 4:45 I'm seldom done before 5:00PM when out phone lines are off for the day.

So from cradle to grave I'm putting in 4.5 hrs before noon and another 4 hrs after noon with an hour out for lunch. Most days are 8.5 hrs off a 32 hour week but I get paid from clock in to clock out so most weeks I'm paid for 34 hours or whatever my clock count shows by the minute.

Sounds good to me. There have been times where I've been ready to choke the ever loving 💩 out of the next "individual" to get in my way after three days on.

I must be jinxed! the bloody tumble drier has gone belly up now :frown: and looking at the laundry basket there's a mountain of laundry to do, is it worth doing any until I get the drier repaired! because nothing will dry on the washing line at this time of year anyway.

Missus is crocked in bed with her painful arthritis & it's shopping day too, Looks like a trip to Aldi & pretend I didn't see the laundry basket :D

It was hot yesterday so when Roz rang to suggest lunch out and a trip to the cinema we agreed!

A mixed grill at the club was enjoyable though noisy.

The film “My name is Otto” was a Sheila's film and I tried hard to go to sleep. However being out with my two favourite “girls” was enjoyable.
A redhead one side, a blonde the other...whose gonna complain?

We bought a new upright freezer while in town as out last one bit the dust.

You have been bitten by a string of bad luck lately. Good mojo sent your way from here.

Yeah they all seem to break all at once & always at the wrong time of year, :frown: Still haven't heard back from the boiler guys yet although the paperwork has been signed, I suppose it just depends on how many people are waiting for there boiler in front of us, Still we cant complain as it's a freebie.:applause:
The first thing I'm going to have is a red hot bath when it's up & running, Boy have I missed those.

Last session on the radiotherapy machine today as the months course is finished :thumb:.

Thank goodness for small mercies! How are you feeling with it mate? With your missus suffering so badly from arthritis, I have told you about how good turmeric is for that complaint haven’t I?

Yeah I'm glad that's over with, Feeling a bit Meh to be honest, that radiotherapy plays havoc with your bowel movements, Still going to the bathroom around 6 times a night but managing to pee better with those meds they gave me.
They said these symptoms will last for 6-8 weeks until the prostate settles down & they'll contact me in six months time for PSA blood & Scan tests.

The tumble drier repair guy is due this morning thank goodness, The laundry isn't drying on the washing line outside & there's a mountain of it to do yet :frown:
