Wonders never cease! We've been pencilled in for the boiler install next Monday. :applause:Mind you I hope I've not jinxed it as they never rang us like they said they would about whether the digital "paperwork" was excepted as proof, it took an email & a phone call to different offices to find that out
Nothing more exciting than a shopping day to Aldi later.

We had to buy a new washing machine today, but we found one at the scratch and dent store that didn’t have any obvious scratches or dents, it was $500 less than the same unit at Lowes or Home Depot, and the cherry on top was they knocked another $100 off the price. Yay!

Yesterday my plans fell in a heap. I planned to finish off some heavy brushcutter but my beast of a machine wouldn’t start! I’ll pop the plug out and get a new one today as cleaning the old one didn’t work. Instead I spent an hour or so with my lighter battery line trimmer cleaning up around the house.

I used the new Dremel on Bella's claws and after spending a bit of time introducing her to it, she let me grind them down. The groomer invariably cuts one to the quick and makes her bleed so I’ll be happier knowing that she wont get hurt doing it this way. Works on my nails also!

We are heading off to Lakes Entrance this morning as I’m booked in for a 5th Covid inoculation at 10.

Wanna do our cats claws with that dremel? :D I tried to cut them once & ended bleeding from mulipile scratches, I've taken them to the vets ever since as it's worth the 20 quid for them to wrestle with them :D

I didn't go through the door yesterday as the weather was sleeting down so ended up driving trains all afternoon :thumb:

They even had a Stanier Jubilee Loco 45567 called 'South Australia' in a scenario from 1958 travelling from Chester to Liverpool.

I looked up the history of that Loco to see if it survived the cutting torches in the 1960's but was cut up for scrap in 1965. :frown:

Got the brushcutter started yesterday and hooked in for an hour or so and finally got the things that were worrying me done. Yeah!

We headed down to Lakes Entrance and a delightful blonde nurse gave me my Pfizer inoculation. 5th for me and this includes protection from a range of Covid variants.

I had my donut from Big Bear’s Donuts, white chocolate and raspberry jam. They should supply a wet facecloth with each donut if you have a beard! Fish & chips later by the water and a pleasant drive home through rolling countryside. Oh yeah we dropped in and bought some Flathead tails from the fishing co-op. straight off the trawler.

Thats 2 jobs off my list though I start a new list this morning!

I've got a dedicated flush cutter for that. It's like the one I have for small electronics, but a less expensive brand.

I feel it does a better job than the cheapo claw trimmers you get from the pet shop with the added bonus of being easier to line up a good cut.

You're right about the cheapo claw trimmers they're not fit for purpose, They go nuts when I try to cut their claws but when they're in the vets they seem to accept it that they're going to be cut & put up less of a fight.

Perishing outside again so I'll be staying indoors, Mind you it's not much warmer indoors lol

I’ve got some good doggie nail trimmers but you have to be careful where you cut in case you hit the quick.

I took the old tractor out yesterday and poisoned blackberry and heaps of woody shrubs coming up on the nature strip on the side boundary. I covered about 300 metres all in all. There was leak from one of the fittings and I got sprayed all over my back with defoliant. Does this mean my hairy back will be clean shaven?

I had a good old wash after.

About tea time we noticed wood smoke that had settled through our valley and in light of past history that was disturbing. I did a search and found out that there had been environmental burning nearby which is how the fuel load is kept down. It looks misty this morning but beautiful as the sun is coming up.

Those tomato seed varieties I ordered from France & Hungary have shown up in the post this morning but I think I'll hang fire sowing them just yet as it's perishing out there. My two rhubarb plants have taken a battering & are lying flat on the soil from the freezing weather we've had over the last week despite me covering them with upturned big buckets. :frown:

Twas an uneventful week 'til yesterday. Not only was my laptop down for the count requiring a trip downtown to our IT dept to swap out but our entire AWS workforce system was out. And not only ours.

A company called Alvaria produces the number one selling software for call centers like ours. Due to a massive server outage anyone operating it was impacted and impacted all day long. We were never able to reconnect and get back online again. Out of curiosity I attempted to pull up their website thinking it may have some news. My Malware Bytes blocked it indicating they've got some major issues.

Now the question is will they have it up an running by Monday? Whatever is happening has been kept suspiciously quiet. There is absolutely nothing about it at all on the internet. Any query just takes one back to their own website. It and our POP system SalesForce are far and away not the simplest systems to operate. They both require too much adaption for our needs and that work isn't getting done.

Guess I'll know on Monday whether or not I'm able to do my job. As it stands yesterday was a lost day from a standpoint of our more typical productivity and yet so many people had already checked out for the day we were required to complete our entire shifts doing little or nothing.

It's getting to be tax refund time again so I placed some listings for items I want to unload. While it's still a buyers market buyers are a bit less price sensitive now and gear sells at or close to it's asking price. Today I sold a spare Babicz FCH Telecaster Bridge I've had around for too long and I hope to move a pedal or two to offset what I spent on a new Keeley Roto Sonic rotary speaker pedal I just bought.

Tomorrow is laundry and visit the grand kids day.

My problems were resolve by noon however Alvaria was still not responding meaning their servers were still down. What all of that will mean tomorrow is anyone's guess right now. But if we are back in business the phones will be crazy.

For years I did all my own computer stuff, harware and software both. I helped friends out and did work for the caravan park we stay at also.

Not any more!

My brain and memory are getting fuzzy with advancing years and now I pay the man. Less stress that way!
Fortunately the Mac doesn’t give me problems very often.

We have a pair like that. I usually delegate them to SWMBO for their armament nerfing procedure, while I'm able to handle the other four (that for some reason she struggles with) with comparative ease.

Bear in mind the furballs aren't exactly happy about having their weapons inspected for adherence to treaty levels, and they do try to resist you finding "the good one", but it saves damage and injuries.

I'm sure the furball fantasy goes something like this though

NSFW: language and puppet violence

I'm off to the docs to get my three monthly hormone injection then off to the Aldi for some shopping.
The boiler guys are supposed to be coming today to install the new condenser boiler but as of yet we've had no conformation from the company doing the install :dunno:

The communication with these people has been virtually zero from the very start :frown:It could be a good day or a shouty bad day later today :D

Day Two of no connection to the servers that run our entire phone operation. So Alvaria wasn't able to repair it over an entire weekend either. This must be some serious shit since we are not the only company depending on them. This is costing millions of dollars.

Had a big morning today!

I covered about 1 kilometre largely on foot hefting a heavy spray pack dealing with noxious weeds such as blackberry, scotch thistles and black wattle. After a fire, seeds that have laid dormant in the soil come to life and as such our place is infested with the bloody things. However because they spread seed so far and wide, an attempt to contain the outbreaks such as I did today is vital on a regular basis.

Down the back of the property I found a blackberry that even had ripe fruit on it which I picked before I sprayed. "What to do with them I thought?” I put them i my hat so Gael could enjoy them with a bit of ice cream after tea tonight. I placed the hat in the tractor bucket and wandered off spraying and when I returned the last time noticed the cows crowded around something on the ground.

As I got closer I realised it was my hat and that the blackberries had all gone and they were slobbering all over my poor hat!

Notice the guilty looks as they dispersed~
