Hi.

I would like to share a little Blues to compare both tones of my Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Signature and my Gibson Les Paul Deluxe:

Which tone do you like the most? I'm not so sure if there is so so so much difference between one and another in terms of quality but i'm not an expert, beside that I think both sounds pertty decent :)

They both sound great!
The Gibson does Santana's tone, it's amazing!
However, I think that the Epiphone's tone possibly suits blues even better imho. I love them both!
Very soulful playing, by the way!

PS They are extremely similar but the Gibson sounds very slightly treblier and slightly more nasal at times to me. The Epi has slightly more bottom end and sounds very slightly fatter imho but I say "very slightly" because if I don't specifically focus on paying attention to minute differences and I just focus on the melody instead, it's hard to know exactly which guitar is which. They both sit very well in the mix.

I wanted to add that I don't have an actual studio headset, just basic consumer's gear. Someone with better equipment can probably catch more nuances that I can.

This Epi has a deeper sound... (+60) similar to my LP Plus Top 2013.
The Gibson has a thinner sound with more sustain and is more modern...
That's how it seemed to me.

if the amp is set... equally for both guitars...

HI,

Amp was the same for both guitars, i Only used half of gain and the same EQ in both.
I think like you say, deeper sound in case of the JB Epiphone.

Great guitar really.

Great playing Pablo. Personally I prefer the sound of the mini humbuckers. They "cry" more. I actually had a LP Deluxe years ago. The reason I sold it was due to it's weight. But I did enjoy it's tonality.

Gibson LP Deluxe for sure. It cut through very nicely. Very tasteful playing.

Thank you for your great music!

In any Gibson - Epi comparison I preferred the Gibson sound more (but this little difference is not the money worth for me).
This is the first time were I prefer the Epi! In addition, the Epi with neck PU and your amp setting is my most favourite sound, really great!

Thank you for the comments!
I think I also have encounter feellings about both guitars, being honest I still preffer the Goldtop due the Mini humbuckers but to do a 100% full comparition may be with and Epiphone Gold top with mini HB.

But I'm not sure if the difference worth so much difference of money between one and each other....

Personally I like Gibson better. Love the mini humbuckers. Had comparion been with Epi's 55 Bonamassa with their P90 pickups I would not be able to answer.
